After School: Learn & Play
TCR’s After School Learn & Play program offers a structured, engaging, and active environment. Each day, students are picked up at dismissal and brought to TCR, where they start with a healthy snack before joining their grade-based groups, each led by dedicated counselors.
Children enjoy a balanced schedule that includes sports, swimming, and homework time, with our youngest participants also taking part in arts & crafts and story time—all designed to keep kids active, supported, and having fun after the school day ends.
Open to all children from Pre-K to 5th Grade.
Transportation is provided from all Riverdale Schools.
Following school pickup, students enjoy a full afternoon of activities until 7:00 PM.
Complimentary snacks with additional food options available for purchase.
Homework period where students can work independently or receive staff support.
Daily activities, including gym sports, dance, and arts & crafts.
Daily swim time and formal swim instruction once each week.
FAQs
Does the program run when school is closed?
No, Learn and Play follows your child’s school calendar. If your child’s school is closed, Learn and Play is closed. We do offer Holiday camp for all major school breaks as well as some single holidays.
Who are the counselors that care for the children?
Do the children swim every day?
The children have a swim period every day and one of those days is an instructional lesson. The other days are free swim. The day the lesson is scheduled for is determined at the beginning of the school year.
How are children grouped?
Children are grouped by grade level and assigned dedicated counselors to ensure an age-appropriate experience and personalized attention throughout the day.
How many days per week can my child attend?
Families can choose from 2, 3, 4, or 5-day enrollment options to best fit their schedules.
