TCR Swim School is designed to help swimmers of all ages and levels build confidence, master essential water safety skills, and develop proper stroke technique in a fun, structured environment. From parent-and-child introductory classes to advanced stroke refinement and endurance training, our programs are tailored to support every swimmer’s growth. Led by experienced instructors, each class promotes comfort in the water while encouraging progress through positive reinforcement and age-appropriate instruction. Whether your child is just beginning or preparing for competitive swimming, TCR provides the perfect foundation for a lifelong love of the water.

At TCR, we proudly offer six indoor hard courts and a team of expert pro trainers ready to elevate your child’s game, no matter their starting point. We provide a wide variety of tennis lessons—both private and group classes—tailored to players of all ages and abilities. Minnows

Ages 6 Mo – 3 Years

This engaging parent-and-child class introduces young children to the water through playful games and guided activities that support skill development and coordination. At the same time, parents will gain valuable knowledge in basic water safety to help their child feel secure and confident in the pool.

Puffer Fish

Ages 3-5 Years

Children will build foundational water skills such as floating independently, submerging their face, and developing alternate arm movements for the front crawl. They’ll also be introduced to the elementary backstroke, breaststroke, and basic deep-water orientation to increase comfort and confidence in the water.

Dolphins

Ages 4-8 Years

Children will practice swimming with their faces in the water while learning proper side breathing technique for the front crawl. Instruction also includes backstroke, breaststroke, dolphin kick, basic diving,  and exercises to build endurance and overall swimming proficiency.

Sharks

Ages 7-16 Years

This 60-minute class provides instruction in all four competitive swimming strokes—freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly—with a focus on refining technique through targeted drills, streamlining, flip turns, diving, and stamina-building exercises.

In addition to their regularly scheduled class, all eligible intermediate/advanced swimmers may participate in our complimentary Shark Squad meets on Wednesdays from 6-7PM in the Fall/Winter sessions.

FAQs

What age can my child start swim lessons at TCR?

Children can begin swim lessons as early as 6 months old through our Minnows parent and child program. We offer age appropriate classes for infants, toddlers, children, and teens, with instruction designed to build confidence, water safety skills, and proper swimming technique at every stage.

TCR offers makeup classes when advance notice is provided. Families can request alternate days and times, subject to availability. Students enrolled in the full season may receive up to five makeups during the season.

Our Swim School is organized by age and skill level, from beginner water introduction classes to advanced stroke development. If you’re unsure which class is the best fit, our aquatics team can help assess your child’s level.

Students progress through essential water safety skills, floating, breath control, and stroke development. As swimmers advance, they learn freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, diving, flip turns, endurance training, and overall swim confidence in a structured environment.
