Pedro was born in the Dominican Republic where he began his career in tennis competing for his home country in the Davis Cup. He went on to be the head coach for the national 14U teams and would compete in Costa Rica, El Salvador and Guatemala. 

In 2008 he founded the Pedro Mendez Tennis Academy in Missouri, and developed top ITF and WTA players such as Michelle Valdez, Vicky Lozano and Adriana Perez. He has been coaching in the NYC area since 2016.

Pedro works wonders with students of all ages, from 3yrs to 93yrs (and up)!
